01 / THE PRINCIPLE

What this assembly is supposed to do

Fast interstellar gas and dust impose extreme impact and radiation hazards. The concept distributes the load among an ablative outer surface, graded ceramics or aerogel, a cryogenic deuterium–protium buffer, catalytic repair functions and superconducting backing.

02 / CONNECTIONS AND BOUNDARIES

How it fits the engine

Conflicting source geometries: 120 m shield thickness versus a 300 m axial shield with 120 m base diameter. The notes also disagree on five graded layers versus six protective functions.

OPEN VALIDATION QUESTION

Can an independently verified mass, heat-flux and erosion model establish a workable shield geometry and cooling duty cycle?
